Hoot, DePriest Named to All-Academic Teams

DALLAS, Texas - Conference USA Soccer All-Academic honorees were announced by the league office Monday with two Blue Raiders appearing on the two teams.
"I am very proud of Amber being recognized for the third consecutive year on the academic first team and Peyton on her second team selection," said head coach Aston Rhoden. "Both are talented soccer players who also work diligiently on achieving their academic goals. They both truly represent the traits we look for in every student athlete."
Amber Hoot was named to the First Team for the third time while Peyton DePriest was named to the Second Team.
"I'm really proud of Amber, Peyton for winning this award," said Head Coach Aston Rhoden. "All had strong performances on the field this season and it's good to see their work ethic and commitment to their sport carry over to their studies."
Hoot is a Biochemistry major that currently holds a 3.97 GPA. This is her third appearance on the C-USA All-Academic First Team, having been named in 2018. She has played in 18 matches this season and recorded a two goals and four assists.
DePriest is an Exercise Science major with a 3.89 GPA. As a freshman in 2017, she was a three time MTSU Dean's List honoree and C-USA Academic Medal Winner in addition to being named C-USA Freshman of the Year and C-USA Offensive Player of the Year on the soccer field. This season she has connected for career-high 16 goals in 15 games, along with registering two assists.
