Raiders Trek to Texas for More C-USA Action

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.—The Middle Tennessee volleyball team is on the road to Texas this weekend for two more Conference USA matchups, taking on the UTEP Miners Friday evening and the UTSA Roadrunners Sunday afternoon.

The Blue Raiders are currently on a five-game win streak, the program's longest streak since 2011, after defeating UAB and LA Tech last weekend at home. MT is now 12-13 overall, which is the most wins the team has had since 2013, and 5-5 in the conference.
Senior Dora Peonia led the team in kills against the Blazers, with a total 19 on the match. She also finished with 11 digs to record her 12th double-double on the season. For the third time this season, Taylor Hammill, who was named Conference USA Setter of the Week, dished out a season-high 52 assists and tallied 15 digs, recording her 11th double-double. Five Blue Raiders had double digit kills, and as a whole, MT totaled 10 service aces, the most since their first match of the season against Saint Louis.
Sunday afternoon, the Blue Raiders downed LA Tech in four sets. Freshman Amalie Jorgensen had eight kills and no errors, finishing with a .615 hitting percentage. Hammill had no hitting errors as well with four kills, finishing with a .571 hitting percentage. She also recorded three service aces and her 12th double-double this season.
Scouting the Opponent
UTEP
Junior Mallory Yost ranks ninth in the conference for her .318 hitting percentage and a total 161 kills on the year. Senior Alex Torres leads the team in digs with 299 on the season and ranks ninth in C-USA for digs per set.
The Miners are 11-12 overall and 4-6 in the conference after going 1-1 last weekend. They fell to No. 22 WKU in three sets, and defeated Southern Miss in five.
UTSA
Senior Emily Ramirez is one player to watch for UTSA, as she falls at No. 18 in the country and No. 2 in the conference for her 0.49 aces per set and 42 total aces on the season. She also ranks at No. 7 in the league for digs per set (3.72).
The Roadrunners go into the weekend with a 14-10 overall record and 7-4 in the conference after falling to FAU in three sets Friday evening and defeating FIU in four sets Sunday afternoon.

- Urte Neimantaite tallied a career-high 19 kills on two occasions, against Tennessee Tech and Marshall. She has one double-double on the season and has led the team attacks on nine occasions.
- Neimantaite is ranked 10th in the conference for her average 3.23 kills per set.
- Taylor Hammill recorded her 2,000th career-assist against Marshall on October 11. She has also recorded 12 double-doubles this season. Hammill is ranked third in the conference for her 10.08 assists per set.
- Hammill recorded a season-high 52 assists on two occasions and a season-high 18 digs.
- Bri Tankesley recorded her 1,000th dig against UT Martin on October 22. She also recorded a career-high four aces against Alabama A&M and a season-high 26 digs against Marshall.
- Tankesley is also ranked eighth in the conference for her average 3.72 digs per set, and is second on the team in service aces with 21 total.
- Amalie Jorgensen nearly doubled her career-high blocks against North Texas, finishing with 11 total on the match.
- Kayla Henley has recorded four double-doubles on the season. She also tallied a career-high 19 digs against Western Illinois.
- Marley Banton leads the team in service aces with 22 total on the year.
- Mikaela Weidmann leads the team in blocks with 85.0.
