Blue Raider Men Lead Field, Women Capture 2 Titles on Day 1 of C-USA Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Middle Tennessee's men ended the first day of the Conference USA Indoor Championships in first overall with two first-place finishes, while the women took home a title of their own in the distance medley relay and sit ninth.

Middle Tennessee will be well represented in the mid-distance finals on Sunday. It'll have multiple runners in each of the four events. Additionally, Tre'von Sanders and Abike Egbeniyi will both be the top seeds in the 800.

Jacob Choge and Thobile Mostio went 1-2 in the 5K. Choge won last year's 3K and won both the 3K and 5K in 2017.

Fabian Edoki set a new C-USA Championship Meet record for the long jump as he took first place in the men's event. Jacob Patten took second in the high jump, coming just one mark short of the title.
