MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders return to Reese Smith Jr. Field after being on the road for 11 of their last 12 games to take on Lipscomb Tuesday evening.
MT finished their toughest stretch of the season on a high note, taking two of three from UTSA last weekend to begin C-USA play above .500.
Three Blue Raiders batted above .400 against UTSA. Nick Carnevale, Darien Prewett, and Brycen Thomas all combined for 17 hits and seven runs batted in, a third of MT's output as a team. Darrell Freeman Jr. wasn't far behind, batting .333 and blasting two home runs as the designated hitter.
On the mound, the Blue Raiders have looked to Scheldon Paulk late in games. Through 13 innings of work, the junior has allowed just one earned run, while striking out 16 batters to just one walk.
Scouting Lipscomb: The Bisons come into Tuesday's game after taking just one of three from Ohio State last weekend. Offensively, the Bisons are one of the better hitting teams the Blue Raiders will face. They are led by Chris Bashlor, who leads the team in batting average (.400), hits (24), and RBIs (16). On the mound, Lipscomb rides a 5.13 ERA and average a 1.60 WHIP.
Tomorrow's game will also feature Two Dollar Tuesday, with tickets, hotdogs, and soft drinks costing just two dollars.
