AWENDAW, S.C. – Coming off of a strong final round a week ago at the Schenkel Invitational, head men's golf coach Mark McEntire and his squad look to carry their momentum into the opening round of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate Sunday morning.
"I was happy with our last round in Georgia and I look for that to continue this week," McEntire said. "This is another great field and a good finish would help us continue to get confidence heading into the postseason. We have a great pairing tomorrow and we look forward to having a good week."
The Blue Raiders will be one of 15 teams teeing off Sunday at Bulls Bay Golf Club, joined by host South Carolina (No. 20) as well as College of Charleston, No. 4 Duke, No. 38 Iowa State, No. 36 Kansas, Kent State, Kentucky, Missouri, No. 27 NC State, defending champion Ole Miss (No. 48), Purdue, Virginia, No. 41 West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Middle Tennessee's lineup will include the same five golfers that have featured throughout the spring season.
Tanner Owens led the Blue Raiders last time out with a Top 20 finish in Statesboro, his fourth Top 20 in six events this season.
Marcus Byrd and Cooper Sears, who join Owens as the three Blue Raiders to post Top 5 finishes this spring, are back in the lineup as well.
James Beckner and Palmer Sadlowski round out the Blue Raider lineup as they open up the three-day, 54-hole event on Sunday.
Middle Tennessee tees off at 11:30 a.m. ET Sunday alongside NC State and Wisconsin on the 10th tee.
