Blue Raiders Head to Nashville for Midweek Matchup

Murfreesboro, Tenn- The Blue Raiders will travel forty minutes north to Nashville, to face off in a midweek matchup with Tennessee State at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Raiders are coming off a series sweep of C-USA opponent FIU. In the series, the Raiders allowed one FIU run to score. Raiders' pitchers Amber Baldwin and Corrina Dodd combined for three complete games and 16 strikeouts. The offense was lead by a pair of home runs from Murfreesboro native Kirstyn Cuccia, and junior Kaylyn Slatter also pitched in with some run support by blasting a pinch-hit grand slam over the center field fence.
Tennessee State is coming off a six game home losing streak entering Wednesday's game. The Tigers are led by sophomore outfielder Bri Vire. Vire is leading the team with 26 hits, 14 runs, four doubles, and has a .406 batting average. The Raiders' last showdown with TSU came exactly one year ago, the Raiders won by a sore of 7-1. In the game the Raiders totaled 12 hits, four stolen bases, and Amber Baldwin struck out a career high nine Tiger batters.
