Men's Tennis Inks Three

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.– Middle Tennessee men's tennis, led by head coach Jimmy Borendame in his ninth season, has signed three talented student-athletes to join the team in 2019.
"All three of these guys I expect to contribute in the singles and doubles lineup immediately." Coach Borendame added, "Their work ethic, attitude and love of tennis impressed us and we cannot wait for them to be part of the Blue Raider Family."
Sean Presson is one of those three talented student-athletes who has become a Blue Raider, and he hails from Knoxville, Tennessee. He was ranked as the No. 1 recruit in the state of Tennessee by TennisRecruiting.com. In 2017 and 2018 he won the Tennessee State Qualifying Championships and was name the Most Outstanding Junior in Tennessee by USTA. In 2018, Presson was named a finalist at the USTA Southern Closed Championships.
"Sean has a lot of upside with his size and big game," added Borendame. "Once he gets the matches he needs, we expect Sean to be a contributor in singles and doubles."
Javier Cueto Ramos will also join the Blue Raiders in fall 2019 from Tenerife, Spain. He comes in with many accomplishments and was coached by Kris Gray, Ramos is an 11-time Canary Islands Champion, Gran Canaria Yellow Bowl Champion, G4 Portugal Doubles Champion and won the Spanish Doubles Championships in 2016. Ramos won a Grade 3 ITF in Ukraine and competed in the Australian Open Junior Championships (one of the four Grand Slams). He was ranked No. 84 in Spain and ranked as high as No. 144 in ITF.
"Javier Cueto Ramos comes in with a lot of matches under his belt and plays an all-court game. He is competing in the top junior's events in the world". The head coach added. "He is a great competitor and will fit in great with our team culture."
Bradley Buckland is another soon-to-be Blue Raider that is expected to make an impact in his first year on campus. The Great Britain native is a three-time winner and four-time finalist in European competition in singles and doubles ranging from Ireland to recently Poland in 2018.
"Bradley is a guy we targeted early on and saw a lot of potential in," Borendame said of the final commit. "He loves competing and has a great attitude. Coach Sebastian Rey and I believe he will be a solid piece for our team."
Borendame has a history of bringing in quality talent and building a program in Murfreesboro. In 2015, 2016 and 2018, the Blue Raiders had a nationally ranked recruiting class, and this year the Blue Raiders saw an immediate impact from this season's newcomers, Pavel Motl, Francisco Rocha and Stijn Slump.
