The Raiders set for Series Against Rival WKU

Murfreesboro, Tenn.- The Middle Tennessee softball team will host C-USA opponent and longtime rival, Western Kentucky on Monday in the "100 Mile of Hate" series. The Raiders (25-18, C-USA 9-5) sit one spot behind the Hilltoppers (30-9, C-USA 12-3) in the East division of C-USA.
The last time these two teams met was last season in Bowling Green where the Raiders took two of three from the Hilltoppers. WKU leads the series since 2002, with a record of 34-22 against the Raiders.
The Raiders are coming off their third C-USA series victory this season, winning two out of three over FAU in a rematch of last season's C-USA Championship game. The Raiders were led by the arms of their young pitching staff, freshmen Corrina Dodd and Kailey Ahlstrom both picked up wins in games one and two.
At one point this season the Hilltoppers ranked as high as 30th in the country, after putting up 11 straight win and a victory over 17 ranked Kentucky in Lexington.
The Hilltoppers are led by pitchers Kelsey Aikey and Kennedy Sullivan. The Hilltopper staff as has combined for three C-USA Pitcher of the Week honors and Sullivan ranks fifth and sixth in single game punch outs in WKU history.
After the three game set against WKU, the Raiders will remain at home for a series against the Thundering Herd from Marshall on Saturday and Sunday.

- This weekend the first 150 fans into Friday's games will receive a Middle Tennessee softball visor. On Saturday, the first 150 fans in to the game will receive a pink MT cup.
- Lexi Cushing leads C-USA in home runs and is two long balls shy of tying the school record for home runs in a single season.
- Summer Burgess leads C-USA in his with 54 this season. The Raiders are second in C-USA with 332 on the year.
