Patten, Chemadi Claim NCAA Championship Qualifications

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – At the conclusion of the NCAA East Preliminaries, Middle Tennessee claimed four individual qualifications for the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas.
Jacob Patten qualified for the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas after earning a qualifying finish in the men's high jump on Saturday afternoon. Patten jumped a personal-best height of 2.19-meters, finishing eight among the preliminary field.
Likewise, Kigen Chemadi qualified for his second NCAA Championship event on Saturday evening in the men's 5,000-meter event. Chemadi placed second overall in the field, finishing with a time of 14:00.52.
Similarly, Thobile Mosito ranked 43rd overall in the men's 5,000-meter with a time of 15:21.04.
Meanwhile, in the men's shot-put event, Isaac Odugbesan posted a 16th place finish in the preliminaries. Odugbesan notched a season-best distance of 18.48-meters in the field event.
On the track, Edidiong Odiong missed the qualification for the championships, finishing 15th in the women's 200-meter quarterfinal on Saturday. Odiong finished with a season-best time of 23.15.
In the team events, the women's 4x400-meter relay team placed 24th overall in the preliminary events (4:00.22). Meanwhile, the men's 4x400 relay team clinched 18th, crossing the line with a time of 3:09.36.

Abike Egbeniyi qualifies for the women's NCAA Championships in the women's 800-meter on Friday afternoon at the NCAA East Preliminaries. The senior placed seventh overall, qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Egbeniyi crossed the line with at time of 2:04.48.
In the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, Kigen Chemadi qualified for the NCAA Championships on Friday evening. Chemadi notched third place in the event, with a personal best time of 8:38.28.
