Blue Raiders set for NCAA Outdoor Championships in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas – The Middle Tennessee track and field teams are set for the 2019 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, to be held from June 5-8 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
Three Blue Raiders qualified for four championship events at the NCAA East Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Florida. Representatives from 142 different schools will participate in women's events, while 126 programs are represented on the men's side.
The meet begins Wednesday with 21 events (10 prelims and 11 finals). The opening event, the 100-meter men's final, kicks off at 2:30 p.m.
Kigen Chemadi will open up the championships for Middle Tennessee on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase preliminary.
Meanwhile, Abike Egbeniyi will take the track on Thursday in the women's 800 meter at 8:44 p.m. Jacob Patten will also make an appearance Thursday in the men's high jump at 7 p.m., while Chemadi will compete in his second event, the men's 5,000-meter finals, at 9:25 p.m.
All three days of the championships will be available to live stream on ESPN, ESPNU or ESPN3.
