Raiders and Commodores battled in four match deciding tiebreakers

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee Men's Tennis squad battled tough against a solid Vanderbilt Commodores team on day two of the Coach Dick LaLance Invite on Saturday. The Blue Raiders split the four doubles matches and took three of the eight singles matches against Vanderbilt.

Junior Chris Edge and redshirt freshman Sean Presson exited the courts first with an easy 6-3 win over Vanderbilt's Marcus Ferreira and Adam Sraberg to start the doubles off.

Shortly after, Brad Buckland and Pavel Motl claimed the second doubles win, 6-2. On court one, Tom Moonen and Daniel Stormon forced the tiebreaker over the Commodores No. 1 duo.

Four of the eight singles matches ended in intense tiebreaker. Francisco Rocha and Daniel Stormon came out on top of a tight tiebreaking matches. Moonen and Rauch ended on the wrong side of the tiebreaker as they fell in close battles. The No. 76 ranked Chris Edge rebounded after falling on Friday with a quick 6-2, 6-1 win over Marcus Ferreira to give the Raiders five wins on the afternoon.

If the season is going to end up like the past two days have been, it is going to be a exciting one.

The Blue Raider round out the tournament with a showdown with the Belmont Bruins Sunday, 2 p.m.
