MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Men's Tennis announced Tuesday that it has added two transfers, Aryan Saleh from Old Dominion and Asier Ayllon Prado from UIndy, for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
Saleh, from Eschborn, Germany, earned Second Team All-Conference for singles play and Sun Belt Conference Singles Player of the Week during the 2025-26 season. He recorded a 20-6 singles record throughout the year, including 17-2 in the spring, playing on the back courts. The rising senior went on a 10-match winning streak from February 22 through April 19, only finally dropping to the singles player from No. 1 Wake Forest. He went 5-4 overall in doubles play with Piet Steveker and Thomas Nelson as well as 1-1 in the spring.
The year prior, he finished his sophomore season 19-11 in singles overall, going 6-5 at court six and 5-2 at court five. In doubles, he went 6-6 overall, including 2-0 at position three and 1-0 at position one. Notably, he had a seven-match winning streak to end the fall season and start the spring season, defeating student-athletes from No. 53 Purdue, Virginia Tech, and Radford. He won 6-1 and 6-1 in singles against his opponent from No. 75 Georgia Southern to help win ODU's third-straight Sun Belt Championship.
Saleh's freshman season saw him boast a 24-12 record in singles and 7-7 record in doubles. He played primarily on courts five and six, closing the season with a four-match win streak, including a straight-set victory over his opponent from South Carolina.
Prado, from Getafe, Spain, was honored as the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year following a 22-5 record in the top singles position, dropping just three matches in the spring campaign. Prado also impressed in doubles, tallying a 12-5 record during the 2025-26 season and earning a coveted top-50 ranking with partner Mathieu Derache.
Reflecting on his freshman year, he was crowned GLVC Freshman of the Year after a standout first season. He earned First-Team All-GLVC honors after posting a 20-2 singles record, including an unblemished 6-0 mark in league play. He finished the 2025 spring campaign with a singles ranking of No. 17 in the Midwest Region, having initially debuted at No. 4 singles in the Greyhound lineup before quickly working up to the second singles slot. He ended the season on a 16-match win streak and posted a 12-11 record in doubles competition.
Head Coach Jimmy Borendame on the two transfers:
"Aryan is a straight-up tennis machine. Complete team guy and will be a key culture addition. Asier has a huge upside and has been a dominant player in division two. He has been very well coached and will continue to improve. I am very excited about the future working with these two in our system."
