The Blue Raiders take on Liberty and South Alabama in Fort Myers
FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Middle Tennessee women's tennis team will open the 2020 season Saturday with two neutral matches against Liberty and South Alabama. The match with the Lady Flames is slated for 10 a.m. start on Saturday and the Jaguars first swing is at 10 a.m. on Sunday. FGCU is the host of all the matches this weekend.

- Middle Tennessee's roster features two seniors (Marta Peris Herrero and Lidia Burrows), two juniors (Lee Barnard and Zani Barnard) and four freshmen (Love-Star Alexis, Muskan Gupta, Zoe Klapman and Noelle Mauro).
- The Blue Raiders hold a 22-22 record all-time in spring season openers but is 4-2 in those matches over the past six seasons.
- The past decade, the Blue Raiders are 21-18 in neutral site matches.
- Head coach Tayo Bailey-Duvall enters her second season with the Blue Raiders.
- The Raiders finished 11-13 overall and 2-3 in Conference USA, reaching the tournament quarterfinals before falling to C-USA Champions Rice.
- Burrows and Herrero lead the Blue Raiders with a combined over 100 career singles wins.
- Freshman Love-Star Alexis led the Raiders with the most fall wins with seven, look for her to make an immediate impact this season.

- This is the first meeting between the Blue Raiders and the Lady Flames.
- Liberty were picked as the ASUN conference co-favorites, along with North Florida in the preseason coaches' poll.
- The Lady Flames finished 15-7 overall and 6-1 in their first year in the ASUN in 2019. They won a share of the ASUN regular season crown.

Scouting the Jaguars
- This is the 29th meeting between the Blue Raiders and the Jaguars, South Alabama leads the series 21-7.
- The Jaguars made their 12th NCAA Tournament appearance against No. 11 Florida State in 2019 after winning 18th Sun Belt Crown.
