MT hosts UAPB in standalone

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's tennis team hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Friday at 4:30 p.m. The Lady Raiders are riding a four-match win streak heading into the home match.
You can also get free hot dogs and chocolate milk provided by the MTSU Creamery, MTSU Dining and Blue Print Solutions. These promotions are available for the 4:30 p.m. match against UAPB.
Both men's and women's teams will split the Adams Tennis Complex for the home match against UAPB. Free admission and parking to all home matches.

On March 27 from 5 to 11 p.m. at MTSU's Recreation Center, MTSU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the Middle Tennessee Women's Tennis Team will join together to walk the track in honor and memory of those battling cancer. This event is open to the public and numerous activities and entertainment will take place that are fun for the whole family. Before and during the event, teams will raise funds for the American Cancer Society. No donation is too small, every dollar counts. Your donations help fund groundbreaking cancer research, patient care programs, and can make a difference in communities like ours. With every donation, you are helping the American Cancer Society save lives. To find out more go to Relayforlife.org/mtsu.

Here come the Blue Raiders
- Middle Tennessee's roster features two seniors (Marta Peris Herrero and Lidia Burrows), two juniors (Lee Barnard and Zani Barnard) and three freshmen (Love-Star Alexis, Muskan Gupta and Noelle Mauro).
- The past decade, the Blue Raiders are 64-26 in home matches and 41-58 in away matches.
- Head coach Tayo Bailey-Duvall enters her second season with the Blue Raiders.
- The Raiders finished 11-13 overall and 2-3 in Conference USA, reaching the tournament quarterfinals before falling to C-USA Champions Rice.
- Burrows and Herrero lead the Blue Raiders with a combined over 100 career singles wins.
- Freshman Love-Star Alexis led the Raiders with the most fall wins with seven, look for her to make an immediate impact this season.
- MT moved to 16-0 over Tennessee State.
- Last week, the Raiders completed their seventh match decided by one match. They defeated ETSU Sunday in a come-from-behind victory with senior Marta Peris earning the clincher on court four.

Scouting the Golden Eagles
- This is the first appearance between the programs.
- UAPB match with the Blue Raiders is their first match of the dual season after two postponed matches earlier against Mississippi Valley State and Southern.
- In 2019, the Golden Lions held a 1-18 record. Its lone win came over Mississippi Valley State (5-0).
