Round 3 Pairings
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – With day one of the Hurricane Invitational in the books, the Blue Raiders are in 11th place at 56-over par thru 36 holes of play on Monday.
Scores are high across the board at The Biltmore as no teams are under par and only four teams are within 20 strokes of even par after two rounds, while just three players are under par for the tournament.
"It was a really tough day out there adjusting to the wind and the conditions, and we just didn't manage the course that well," Head Coach Chris Adams said. "We had a couple of good individual rounds and all things considered we are giving it all that we have and will continue to improve."
Caroline Caudill is leading the way for the Blue Raiders so far, using a 1-over par 73 in round one to start the day strong before closing the afternoon out at 8-over (73-79=152).
Savannah Quick, playing as an individual, had a very strong second round of even par 72 to go into the clubhouse at 10-over par (82-72=154) for the day while Sophie Burks joins Caudill and Quick in the top half of the field at 11-over par (79-76=155).
After going into the week with not much practice time in cold and rainy Murfreesboro, Catherine Caudill (+19), Taylor Edlin (+20), and Molly Bebelaar (+22) each struggled through the opening day in Miami and will look to bounce back in Tuesday's final round.
Middle Tennessee, who at No. 99 are the lowest ranked team in the field, are three strokes up on No. 62 Indiana (+59) and seven strokes back of No. 76 Penn State (+49) with a chance to improve their ranking if they can pick off a couple of team wins on Tuesday.
The final round tees off at 8:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday with MT beginning on holes 11-14 alongside the Nittany Lions and Hoosiers.
