Blue Raiders prepare for Clemson Hidden Duals to close out fall slate

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee men's tennis team will close out the fall season at the Clemson Hidden Duals on November 5-7 at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility. In addition to Middle Tennessee, Georgia, Clemson, VCU, and Yale fills out the field for the Clemson Hidden Duals.
The Blue Raiders will feature a younger lineup at the Clemson Hidden Duals as Stepan Holis, Oskar Brostrom-Poulsen, Mattia Bernardi, Lucas Olivier, and John Chin will compete in the three-day competition.
The matches will start at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. CT on Friday and Saturday, then 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. CT on Sunday. The Blue Raiders will compete in singles and doubles on all three days.
During the Blue Raiders last tournament at the Illini Invite, Holis and John Chin teamed up for a doubles win, while Chin secured his second win of the day in singles on the opening day of the invitational. Holis and Chin defeated Illinois' Guzauskas and Petrov in impressive fashion, 6-1, while in singles, Chin defeated Arizona State's Moritz Hoffman in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. On the second day of competition, Holis and Chin earned their second doubles win of the weekend, securing a 7-5 win over Illinois' Horve and Meister. Brostrom Poulsen also tallied a win for the Blue Raiders, picking up a straight-set win over Arizona State's Nicola Cigna, 6-4, 6-4. The Blue Raiders had a strong finish to the invitational, picking up numerous doubles and singles wins to close out the weekend. Bernardi teamed up with Stijn Slump to capture a 7-5 win over Illinois Brown and Horve. Brostrom Poulsen played with Francisco Rocha to defeat the Illini's Gazauskas and Stuart, 6-4. Holis and Olivier earned a doubles win as well, defeating Meister and Petrov of Illinois.

We are looking to big Steve to help lead the young guys and get some more matches under our belts and build on what we have been working on individually and check out some more doubles combos. We are excited to see the freshmen keep improving."
