Blue Raiders Look to Rebound at FIU

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's soccer team returns to action after a two-week layoff on Friday when they travel to Miami to take on Florida International. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at FIU Soccer Stadium and will be streamed on CUSA.tv.
Last Time Out
The Blue Raiders fell to the 49ers of Charlotte on March 12 by a score of 1-0. With he game scoreless for most of the night, Charlotte netted the game-winning goal in the 88th minute to leave Murfreesboro with a victory.
Manley-oh-Manley
Sophomore defender Caroline Manley picked up honors from Conference USA as she was named Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending March 7. She helped anchor the Blue Raider defense that held ODU to just 12 shots, including just three on goal. She became the first MTSU player to pick up this honor since Emily Jorgenson in 2015
Atop the Record Books
As a junior in 2019, Peyton DePriest set the program record for career goals scored. With at least three games still to play, the forward currently sits atop the Blue Raiders record books with 44 goals, which leads the nation among active players, and a career shot percentage of .263, and she set the single-season mark for goals per game in 2019 with 1.07.
Series History
The Blue Raiders enter Friday's matchup leading the all-time series 14-7-1, with the first meeting taking place back in 2000. The Blue Raiders have won the last three meetings in the series including the last two played in Miami.
Scouting the Panthers
FIU currently sits at 3-7 on the year and is coming off a 3-1 win over Marshall on Monday. The win over the Thundering Herd was the first Conference USA win for the Panthers since 2016.
Sydney Ampara leads FIU with three goals, all coming in the win over Marshall, earning her Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week honors. Kedie Johnson, Ronja Kronvall, and Alyssa Storey all have two goals apiece as well while Carmen Marin leads the team with three assists. Kiera Gibson leads the Panthers in net with 29 saves.
