Alexis, Barnard win Sixth Straight, Raiders Fall to #43 Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Middle Tennessee women's tennis team took on #43 Charlotte, Saturday morning, falling to the 49ers, 6-1.
The Raiders drop to 7-9 on the season and 1-4 in Conference USA while Charlotte improves to 16-5 and 2-0 in conference play.
In doubles, Love-Star Alexis and Zani Barnard won their match, 6-3, for their sixth straight victory together, but that was all for the Raiders as Charlotte took the doubles point.
The Blue Raiders struggled to get anything going in singles as they dropped five matches. Lidia Burrows was the lone winner for the Raiders as her opponent retired during the second set. Zani Barnard was the only Raider to win a set as she fell 7-6 (6), 4-6, 10-4.
Middle Tennessee will look to rebound tomorrow when they travel to Davidson. First serve is set for 12 p.m.
