Raiders Hit the Road for Contest with ODU

NORFOLK, Va. – The Middle Tennessee women's soccer team is set to hit the road for the first time this season as they travel to Norfolk, Virginia to take on Old Dominion in Conference USA action. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CST at the ODU Soccer Complex and the contest will be live-streamed on CUSA.tv.
Last Time Out
The Blue Raiders dropped their first game of the season last Friday, 3-1, to Western Kentucky. Peyton DePriest notched her first goal of the season off an assist by Sam DeBien. As a team, MTSU outshot the Hilltoppers, 17-9, while WKU earned eight corners to the Blue Raiders two.
Atop the Record Books
As a junior in 2019, Peyton DePriest set the program record for career goals scored. With nearly a full season yet to play, the forward currently sits atop the Blue Raiders record books with 43 goals, which leads the nation among active players, and a career shot percentage of .267, and she set the single-season mark for goals per game in 2019 with 1.07.
Series History
The Blue Raiders will be looking for their first win against Old Dominion in five tries in the series. The two teams played to a draw the first two times they met while the Monarchs have taken the victory the two most recent times. All four matches in the series history have gone to overtime.
Scouting the Monarchs
The Monarchs are coming off a 3-1 loss to Charlotte last Friday as they opened up Conference USA action. Megan Watts scored the lone goal for Old Dominion.
ODU currently sits with a 1-3-1 overall record, earning a 1-0 win against East Carolina in the season opener before falling to NC State, VCU, and Charlotte, and drawing with Liberty. Watts and Emily Garrick have the only goals on the season for the Monarchs while Yuliia Khrystiuk has notched an assist. Kasey Perry and Jasmine Crawley have split time in goal and have made a combined 13 saves this season.
