4/1/2021 3:29:00 PM | Men's Tennis
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In a reversal from the match against the Cardinals in Murfreesboro a couple of weeks ago, the Middle Tennessee men's tennis team fell 4-0 to Louisville, Friday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders fall to 13-6 this season while Louisville improves to 8-7.
After dropping the doubles point, the Raiders did not get off to a great start in singles as they dropped the first set in all six matches.
On court four, Chris Edge fell 6-4, 6-4 as the Cardinals to a 2-0 lead before Tom Moonen fell by the same score to #56 Sergio Hernandez on court two as the Blue Raiders went down 3-0 in the match.
Stijn Slump dropped his first set, 6-0, before rebounding in the second set, 6-3. Unfortunately, he could not ride the momentum in the third set as he fell 6-3.
Francisco Rocha was on the verge of forcing a third set as his match went unfinished with him up 5-3 in the second set. Pavel Motl and Max Rauch also had their matches go unfinished when both players were on serve in the second set.
The Blue Raiders will return to action April 11 when they travel to Memphis to take on the Tigers.
