Blue Raiders Set to Compete at the Tennessee Relays and Joe Walker Invite

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee track and field team will compete at the Tennessee Relays Thursday, April 8 - Saturday, April 10 in Knoxville, Tenn. The Blue Raiders will also compete in the Joe Walker Invite April 9-10 in Oxford, Miss. The Blue Raiders look to continue its early success this outdoor season, as it has collected 12 event titles and 29 podium finishes in its first two outings.
Last Time Out
The Blue Raiders took home eight event titles and collected 19 podium finishes at the Hilltopper Relays in Bowling Green, Ky., last weekend.
Erhire Omamuyovwi jumped his way to first place in the men's high jump with a 2.20m mark. The Nigeria native's performance set a new outdoor school record in the event. Esther Isa used a 1.80m jump to claim the women's high jump title.
On day two, Esther Isa used a 12.81m jump to claim the women's triple jump title. In the women's 100m, Cecilia Francis recorded a gold-medal finish, clocking in at 11.66. Amarachukwu Obi captured the title in the women's 200m with a career-best 23.23. Jaquez Torian captured the gold in the men's 400m with a time of 47.37.
Joice Jebor was crowned women's 1500-meter champion with a time of 4:33.30. Kigen Chemadi took the men's 1500m title with a 3:50.36 finish.
