MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Another talented junior college product has landed in the 'Boro as Southeastern Community College guard Camryn Weston has signed to join the Middle Tennessee Men's Basketball program, Head Coach Nick McDevitt announced Thursday.
A 6-foot-3 combo guard, Weston has good ball skills and as a strong driver has the ability to score in a number of ways.
"Camryn is a high-character young man that brings with him the willingness to work and some toughness to our program," McDevitt said. "He is a combo guard that has size and strength that allow him to make plays around the basket and he's proven to be an unselfish teammate."
As a sophomore at SCC, Weston was third on the team in both scoring and rebounding at 10.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, the latter of which led all Blackhawks guards. He also ranked second on the team in assists per game (3.1) and first in steals per game (1.9).
His impressive 55.4 percent shooting from the field was third on the team and led all SCC guards, while he also converted 80 percent of his attempts from the charity stripe while earning All-ICCAC Second Team All-Region Honors.
An Albany, Ga., native, Weston played high school basketball at Westover High School. He will have three years of eligibility remaining as a Blue Raider.
