CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A penalty kick in the 88th minute by senior Peyton DePriest gave Middle Tennessee Soccer a 1-1 draw against the Austin Peay Governors on Sunday afternoon at Morgan Bros. Soccer Field.
In what would be a back-and-forth fight for 85 minutes of play, the Austin Peay's Lindsey McMahon would put the Govs on the board first in the 85th minute on their third shot of the contest and second on target.
The Blue Raiders needed a quick answer, which eventually came in the 88th minute on a penalty from APSU's McMahon inside the penalty box. Peyton DePriest beat APSU's keeper Chloe Dion to bring the game even at one with 1:31 to play.
Middle Tennesse would attempt one final shot in the final minute of play before the game ultimately concluded in the 1-1 draw.
The Blue Raiders outshot the Govs 13-3, including a 5-2 mark on target. Middle Tennessee also held the advantage in corners, 3-2. Junior keeper Hannah Suder collected the Blue Raiders sole save of the day.
