TULSA, Okla. — Oskar Brostrom Poulsen and Francisco Rocha competed in a hard-fought match in the round of 32 of the ITA All-American Championships.
Brostrom Poulsen and Rocha faced USC's Stefan Dostanic and Bradley Frye, the No. 1 seed in the doubles draw of the tournament. The Trojans were also the No. 2 doubles team in the nation.
MTSU's duo of Brostrom Poulsen and Rocha jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first before winning the first set 6-3.
In the second set, the Trojans won 6-2.
Splitting the first two sets meant the teams would go to a third set 10 point tiebreaker. Brostrom Poulsen and Rocha fought hard but ended up losing the third set 13-15.
Brostrom Poulsen and Rocha will head to the back draw of the tournament.
ASSISTANT COACH ANDREA CALIGIANA
"This match could have gone either way. It was an absolute battle. Francisco and Oskar can beat anyone in the nation, and they keep proving that. I know tomorrow they will bounce back and continue the same great tennis they have been playing the entire week."
