MTSU prepares to close out fall slate at the ITA Regionals Championships

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — With the 2022 fall season coming to an end, the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders look to finish strong at the ITA Regional Championships in Louisville, Ky.
The event is from Oct. 13-17 and will be played at the University of Louisville and Bellarmine University.
The tournament will consist of doubles and single matches. The singles and doubles finalists from the event will earn an automatic berth to the 2022 ITA National Fall Championships which will take place Nov. 2-6 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.
In the doubles portion of the tournament, Oskar Brostrom Poulsen, Francisco Rocha, Pavel Motl and Ondrej Horak will be representing MTSU. Brostrom Poulsen and Rocha will look to build off their performance from the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. The duo played their way into the doubles main draw of the tournament. They are ranked the No. 31 doubles pairing by the ITA.
All four players will also be competing in the singles portion of the tournament as well as Shu Matsuoka. Brostrom Poulsen will hope to continue his great singles play from the ITA All-American Championships advancing from prequalifying to the qualifying draw. The sophomore from Denmark became the first player under Jimmy Borendame to advance from one section of the ITA All-American Championships to the next.
Each day of the event will start at 8 a.m. except for the last day, which will begin at 9 a.m.

"This will be the last team event for the fall and an opportunity to qualify for fall nationals. We are all excited for the opportunity and are playing well."
