MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women's tennis head coach Tayo Bailey-Duvall announced the addition of Alessia Truden to the program for the 2023-24 season.
"We are excited about Alessia becoming a Blue Raider to complete her collegiate career," said Coach Bailey-Duvall. "As we move into a new conference alignment, we are looking to build a conference championship team. I believe Alessia's experience, work ethic and drive for success will help raise our team to the next level. I believe she will be great to work with and I look forward to what we will accomplish together."
A native of Palermo, Italy transfers to the Blue Raiders from Quinnipiac University.
At Quinnipiac, Truden went 10-3 in singles and 12-5 in doubles for the 2021-22 season. She helped lead Quinnipiac to the 2022 MAAC Championship. Truden was named All MAAC First Team doubles and Second Team singles.
She spent her first two collegiate seasons at Denver University. Truden was an ITA Scholar Athlete and a member of the Summit League All-Academic Team.
"I'm really excited for this next chapter at MTSU," said Truden. "I can't wait to find out what this new experience has in store."
Before Denver, she attended John Maynard Keynes High School. She was a member of the Italian National Team from 2012 to 2015. The native from Italy was promoted from Serie B to Serie A2 with Associazione Tennis Verona in 2018. Truden assembled a 10.66 Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) in her home country, Italy. She won the Whole Foods Doubles Championship and finished as a semifinalist in the Tennis Europe Pescara, Tennis Europe The Hague, and 2018 Prequalifying BNL Reggio Caladria.
