Spring season kicks off at Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee men's golf heads west to Dallas to St. George, Utah, for the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational this weekend. Hosted by Southern Utah, the tournament will take place Feb. 11-13, with 18 holes played each day.
The tournament starts at 10:30 a.m. Central on Friday with a shotgun start.
WEATHER
The weekend forecast in St. George calls for clear skies and highs around 70 with virtually no chance of rain.
NOTES
- Middle Tennessee is coming off a fall that saw three top-five team finishes in four tournaments. Murfreesboro native Nick Wolf tied the Blue Raiders' lowest-ever round with a 63 in the first at the JT Poston Invite, while the team set a program record of 268 in that same round.
- Michael Barnard leads the Blue Raiders with a stroke average of 71.22 this season after leading the team at the JT Poston Invitational at 209 (-4).
- Transfer Jack Heath will make his Blue Raider debut this weekend after playing the 2020-21 season at San Diego State.
- At No. 101, Middle Tennessee is the highest-ranked team by Golfstat out of the 14-team field.

"I am excited and ready to get the spring going," head coach Mark McEntire said. "We have some depth on this team and look forward to getting the team some reps this week. I hope to knock the rust of quick and have a solid week."
