MOBILE, Ala. – Middle Tennessee baseball ended its weekend series with a 2-4 loss to South Alabama.
The Blue Raiders (4-9) saw another quality start from a starter in Peyton Wigginton. The senior southpaw allowed one earned run and struck out two over six innings in MT's seventh quality start of the season. South Alabama (8-2) extended its red-hot winning streak to seven games.
Six different MT hitters recorded a hit, including Brycen Thomas, who jacked a two-run shot in the eighth inning to cut the deficit in half.
Jackson Galloway followed the home run with a walk to bring the tying run to the plate, but the next three batters were set down.
Trent Seibert pitched two scoreless innings in relief while striking out two and allowing one hit. After Tuesday's scoreless outing, Seibert now hasn't allowed a run in 8 1/3 innings.
