Blue Raiders Prepare to Battle Tulane and USF in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS – Middle Tennessee women's tennis (9-9, 1-3) will play two matches in Louisiana this week, taking on Tulane (5-3, 1-0) on Thursday, March 10 at Noon and South Florida (3-8) on Fri., March 11 at Noon at the City Park Tennis Center.
Thursday's match against Tulane is a true-road match, the Blue Raiders look to improve on their road record on the season, which sits at 1-8. Friday's match against USF will be played in the same venue, however, MT is 3-1 on the season versus neutral site opponents.
Sophomore Lilly-Sophie Schmidt left last weekend's singles competition against UIC and DePaul with two wins on court No. 6.
Love-Star Alexis, Noelle Mauro, and Zani Barnard split their results in those matches, going 1-1 against their adversaries.
Mauro and Schmidt were the first Blue Raiders to reach double-digit singles wins on the season after last weekend, with 10 wins each.
Tulane has won two of their last three matches with the loss coming to Auburn on the road by a score of 5-2. All five Tulane's wins have been sweeps against their opponents.
South Florida sits at 3-8 on the season but has similarly won two of their last three contests. The Bulls last two matches will be against ranked opponents before taking on MT, USF suffered a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to No. 68 South Alabama on March 5. They will take on No. 50 VCU one day before playing the Blue Raiders.

Middle Tennessee is set to host the 2022 C-USA Championship at the Adams Tennis Complex from April 21-24. Championship information will be released in the coming weeks.
