AUBURN, Ala. - The Blue Raider women's and men's track and field teams wrapped up their final day of competition at the War Eagle Invitational on Saturday. The day saw the Blue Raiders with six medal-worthy finishes, including a new program record.
Graduate student Abigail Kwarteng continues to dominate, setting a new program record of 1.92 meters in the women's high jump. The first-place finish tops the previous outdoor-program record of 1.87 meters set in 2012 by Ann Dudley and also tops the indoor-program record of Ann Dudley's in which she reached a height of 1.86 meters in 2013. Heading into the weekend, 1.92 meters would put Kwarteng at third in the nation and tops her conference-leading height of 1.84 meters.
Not far behind Kwarteng was Esther Isa reaching a height of 1.72 meters for a bronze-worthy finish in the women's high jump.
The freshman phenom, Alaba Akintola, took gold twice on day two of the invite. His first-place finish of 10.09 seconds in the 100-meter dash is a top-three mark in the nation heading into the weekend and allowed him to edge out fellow Nigerian Favour Ashe (Tennessee) who took second with 10.10 seconds. Akintola also took first in the men's 200-meter dash with an outdoor-personal best time of 20.88 seconds. His 100-meter time is the best in C-USA and his 200-meter time would be second heading into the week.
Senior Glory Nyenke took third in the women's 400-meter dash with a personal-best time of 59.58 seconds. Heading into the weekend, 59.58 seconds would be a top-five time in the conference.

The All-American, sophomore Omamuyovwi Erhire, took third place at the War Eagle Invitational with a mark of 2.18 meters in the men's high jump. The mark of 2.18 meters would be the second-best mark heading into the weekend.
