MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women's golf heads to Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., for the Conference USA Championship this week at the PGA National Resort. The 12-team tournament will take place on the par 72, 6,154-yard course.
The Blue Raiders are the fifth-ranked team in the conference by Golfstat at No. 109. North Texas leads the field at No. 44 entering the tournament.
MT is coming off a seventh-place finish at UTSA's Maryb S. Kauth Invitational. Sophie Burks tied for 15th at 227 (+11) to lead the Blue Raiders.
WEATHER FORECAST
The forecast for Palm Beach Gardens calls for highs in the low 80s all three days with thunderstorms likely on Monday and possible on Tuesday.
NOTES
"The conference is pretty deep this year, and we're right about in the middle of the pack as far as rankings go. But rankings are just a number, and when we play to our capabilities, we can compete with anybody. The golf course we're going to is a championship venue, and it's going to give everybody a chance, and so I think the biggest thing is that we know that it's a big golf course, it'll be in great shape, and I think we're looking forward to the challenge."
