Varjun races up the leaderboard for top-10 finish in Jackson

Redshirt freshman moved up 18 spots in the third round
Jackson, Tenn. — Markus Varjun stayed hot on another sunny day at the Jackson Country Club, carding a 68 (-4) on Tuesday in the final round of the Grover Page Classic to finish in the top 10. The Estonian finished the tournament with a score of 212 (-4) , tying for eighth individually.
Varjun, Tate Heintzelman and Drew Miller represented the Blue Raiders as individuals in the tournament hosted by UT Martin.
Varjun eagled his second hole of the day to go along with five birdies. His third-round 68 propelled him 18 pots up the leaderboard and into the top 10. He entered the third round tied for 26th individually after moving up 23 spots from the end of the first round to the end of the second. His 68 equaled the best round of the day.
Heintzelman fell to a tie for 31st individually after recording a 77 (+5) Tuesday. Miller wrapped up play in a tie for 47th at 222 (+6) after a round of 77 (+5).
