MTSU falls short against Liberty

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Middle Tennessee women's tennis comeback falls short against Liberty 3-4 on Friday.
After a rain delay, the Blue Raiders took the courts at 4:15 p.m. for a 11:30 a.m. scheduled match.
Liberty won the doubles point by winning the first two doubles matches.
In singles, Sana Garaknai picked up the first point for MTSU defeating Almborg 6-3, 6-2. Love-Star Alexis came up short as the Flames took a 3-1 lead.
Muskan Gupta would secure the second point for the Blue Raiders against Davtyan 6-3, 6-4. Lilly-Sophie Schmidt would tie it up at 3-3 with a victory over Nguyen 7-5, 6-2. Rutuja Chaphalkar fought to get to the third set before eventually falling short.

"I am proud of the girl's effort today. Liberty is a solid team and looked dominant on paper. We fought and competed very hard and they had to earn every point. Our girls are making great strides and progress. We will rebound tomorrow and look to get our first win of the season."
