MTSU on the road to take on Jacksonville State on Friday and Saturday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Middle Tennessee volleyball team will travel to Jacksonville State on Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4. The Firiday match is at 6 p.m. CT while the Saturday will be played at 2 p.m. CT. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+ and have live stats to follow along.
The Blue Raiders are back on the road after hosting UTEP last weekend. MTSU won both matches against the Miners to move up to second place in Conference USA. Taylor Eisert and Adri Rhoda are the reigning CUSA Setter and Offensive Player of the Week. This is Eisert's fifth Setter of the Week award as Rhoda earned her second Offensive Player of the Week.
The Blue Raiders are tied for first in conference in hitting percentage with a .304 hitting percentage. MTSU is second in CUSA in points per set with 17.47, assists per set earning 12.61 and kills per set averaging 13.63.
Eisert has totaled 974 assists this season and is first in conference in assists per set earning 11.2 per set. Redshirt senior Kayla Henley leads the team in kills with 272 earning 3.1 per set. Laure Jansen has been outstanding on both sides of the ball this season tallying 227 kills and 218 digs. Rhoda is two aces away from reaching 100 career aces. Rhoda is third in CUSA in kills per set averaging 3.3 per set. Graduate student Kaylee Oscarson has recorded 85 total blocks averaging 1.0 block per set. Oscarson is second in conference is hitting percentage hitting at a .413 clip.
Scouting Jacksonville State Gamecocks
Jacksonville State is 5-17 and 3-9 in Conference USA so far this season. In the last match, the Gamecocks fell in a five-set thriller to FIU 3-2. JSU returns six players from last season. The Gamecocks have added seven transfers and two freshmen.
On offense, senior Maddie Stayer leads the team in kills with 159. Transfer Ellie Garrett has totaled 591 assists earning 8.44 per set. Garrett's assists per set is good for fifth in the conference.
On defense, sophomore Morgan McClure has recorded 57 total blocks averaging 0.8 per set. Not too far behind is Hana Aiana with 52 total blocks tallying 0.7 per set.
This will be the third meeting between MTSU and JSU. The Gamecocks won the previous two meetings. The last meeting was in 2021 with JSU winning 3-0.

- Rhoda has 98 service aces needing two more to reach 100 career service aces. The program record in the 25-point era is 116 held by Marley Banton.
- Eisert broke the program record for career assists in the current 25-point era. The Louisville, Ky. native is the fourth Blue Raider all-time to reach 3,000 career assists. This season, she is a five-time CUSA Setter of the Week. Eisert was tabbed Tennessee Sports Writers Association Volleyball Player of the Week on 9/12. She leads conference in assists per set with 11.2.
