Carcich's no-hitter for MTSU Softball caps a 4-1 home weekend
For the first time since 2018, a Blue Raider has tossed a no-hitter in the circle, as Kamryn Carcich held Appalachian State to no hits in MTSU's five-inning 10-0 victory over the Mountaineers on Friday.

The Murray State transfer struck out five in five innings of work, only allowing two base runners on a hit-by-pitch and a walk in the first inning, throwing perfect innings her final four frames in the run-rule win for MTSU.
It's the first no-hitter for Middle Tennessee softball since Cori Jennings' no-no against FIU on May 9th, 2018. It was the 13th time MTSU has no-hit their opponent in program history.
A stellar start the home schedule, as MTSU hosts UAB to start Conference USA play this weekend.
Shelby Echols earns Player of the Week honors from Conference USA
Junior Shelby Echols was named Player of the Week by the Conference USA Office on Monday after a stellar weekend at the MTSU Invitational. Playing her first games in Murfreesboro after transferring from Houston Baptist, Echols hit .588 and led the team with 10 hits on two doubles, three RBIs, and five stolen bases across MTSU's five games.
Congrats to @shelbye08 on winning C-USA Player of the Week! 👏

The Pearland, Texas native now has 33 hits and 20 stolen bases on the year for the Blue Raiders. Echols, who bats in the leadoff spot, has an on-base percentage of .521.
The Blue Raiders have now had a Player of the Week in consecutive weeks for the first time in the Conference USA era.
Previously in the Sun Belt, Lindsey Vander Lugt was named Pitcher of the Week in back-to-back weeks on March 22 and 29, 2010, and the Blue Raiders won three consecutive Player of the Week honors on April 12, 19 and 26, 2004. Cortney Mitchell (April 12 and 26) and Brittney Herald (April 19) shared those honors during that three-week streak.
Jaden Hamm tosses one-hitter for MTSU Baseball
Blue Raider softball wasn't the only MTSU Diamond Club with aces toeing the rubber this weekend, as baseball's Jaden Hamm threw a one-hit shutout against Evansville on Friday.
Hamm carried the no-hitter into the sixth inning, striking out a career-high 11 batters. It was the program's first nine-inning, one-hit complete game shutout since Bob Hardin in 1976.

After taking the doubles point, MTSU quickly lost in two sets on (in order) Courts 2, 4 and 1, putting them just one match away from taking the loss. But Oskar Brostrom Poulsen was able to win on Court 3, followed by Pavel Motl on Court 5, to set up a deciding third set on Court 6 for Marcel Kamrowski.
The Polish Freshman was up to the task and then some, dominating his final set 6-2 to give MTSU its fourth point of the match to claim victory.
