No. 21 Blue Raiders win two against Dartmouth and North Alabama

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Back at the Adams Tennis Complex, the No. 21-ranked Middle Tennessee men's tennis defeated Dartmouth 6-1 and swept North Alabama 7-0 on Friday, March 17.
HEAD COACH JIMMY BORENDAME
"I am really happy going 2-0 on the day 6-1 over Dartmouth and 7-0 over North Alabama. Overall, it was nice to be home. Unfortunately, we were not outside like we wanted to be and get some more outdoor tennis in. The guys looked sharp. Doubles was sharp from the very first point. We had a plan and the guys executed. We had lots of good things today. I am really happy. I am looking forward to enjoying the weekend and taking a couple of days. Then, we'll get geared up for a tough Oklahoma and Texas Tech road trip. We got some really good matches to finish the spring off with."
In the Dartmouth match, the Blue Raiders claimed the doubles points with wins on court No. 3 and. Ondrej Horak and Shu Matsuoka picked up a 6-1 on court No. 3. No. 46 Oskar Brostrom Poulsen and Francisco Rocha claimed the doubles point on court No. 1 defeating their opponent 6-3.
In singles, No. 99 Brostrom Poulsen gave the Blue Raiders a 2-0 lead with a 6-0, 7-5 victory on court No. 3. On court No. 2, Rocha defeated his opponent 6-2, 6-4. No. 82 Slump clinched the match for MTSU tallying a 6-4, 6-4 win. Horak triumped on court No.4 6-4, 7-5. On court No. 5, Marcel Kamrowski fought back from losing the first set 6-3 to win the next two 6-3, 6-2.
In the North Alabama match, the Blue Raiders claimed the doubles point on court No. 3 and 2. Slump and Baran Soyler blanked their opponents 6-0 on court No. 3. On court No. 2, Kamrowski and Pavel Motl secured the doubles point winning 6-2.
In singles, Kamrowski extended the MTSU lead to 2-0 defeating his opponent 6-0, 6-3. Shu Matsuoka tallied a 6-4, 6-4 victory on court No. 6. Rocha was able to clinch the match on court No. 1 picking up a 6-1, 6-4 win. On court No. 5, Motl won 7-6 (4), 6-3. Soyler defeated his opponent 6-4, 4-6, 10-4. To cap the night off, No. 99 Brostrom Poulsen battled in three sets to win 6-1, 5-7, 6-3.

"It's been a good day. We got two wins today. Some guys were able to play a little more. Now, we are going to rest a little bit and prepare for a tough road trip next weekend. We are excited for it and we want to keep this momentum going."
