Softball faces Central Arkansas in game one of Tuscaloosa Regional

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Blue Raider Softball (39-18) will take on Central Arkansas (44-10) in game one of the Tuscaloosa Regional starting at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 19.

Series History
The regional matchup between the Blue Raiders and the Bears will be just the fourth all-time meeting. Central Arkansas leads 3-0 with the last game being at a neutral site in 2020.
Scouting the Competition
Central Arkansas was the winner of the ASUN regular season along with the ASUN tournament this season. It was the first ASUN tournament title for the Bears. Central Arkansas has two wins this season over UAB and one win over No. 6 ranked Arkansas. As a team Central Arkansas has a .277 batting average and are led by Sophomore Kylie Griffin who is hitting .340. In the circle, The Bears use just two pitchers who have a combined ERA of 1.36. Redshirt Junior Kayla Beaver has thrown 192 innings this season with a 1.09 ERA.
Last Time out – C-USA Championships
The Blue Raiders won their second C-USA tournament title last weekend in Ruston, Louisiana hosted by LA Tech. MTSU came out of the losers' bracket and won five games to take home the title against North Texas.
