Women’s Tennis back on the road to Chattanooga on Saturday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women's tennis will travel to Chattanooga, Tenn. to take on the Chattanooga on Saturday, January 20 at 2 p.m. CT.
MTSU is coming off a weekend where they split matches down in Starkville, Miss. In the first match, the Blue Raiders battled back from down 3-0 to win 4-3 against conference foe Jacksonville State. The next day, MTSU fell short against Mississippi 4-2.
Freshman Lena Peyer and junior Eloise Swarbrick won both of their singles matches. Swarbrick fought back from down 5-2 in the third to reach the tiebreak and would then clinch the victory for the Blue Raiders over JSU on Friday. Peyer was down against Mississippi State and won seven straight games at one point to earn a victory over the Bulldogs.
In the doubles department, Rutuja Chaphalkar and Cassidy Mataia paired up and picked up two wins over the weekend on courts No. 1 and No. 2.
