Blue Raiders fall short to Southern Indiana on Tuesday

Redshirt junior Will Jenkins made his first career start as a Blue Raider after two years. Ian Anderson saw his first action this season on the mound in the seventh.
Both teams scored a run in the second inning. Briggs Rutter started the second with a double and scored thanks to an RBI from Jared Vetetoe.
The scoring began in the top of the fifth with the Screaming Eagles scoring five runs. In the bottom of the sixth, the Blue Raiders cut the lead by answering with three runs of their own.
In the bottom of the seventh, freshman Trace Philips hit a 2-run home run. Rutter tallied his second double of the day.
MTSU matched the Screaming Eagles' three runs in the top of the eighth with three runs in the bottom of the eighth. Philips hit a rocket to left-center to score two runs.
