Softball set to host Liberty

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee softball (18-24, 5-10) will welcome conference USA leader and Liberty (23-16, 12-3) for a series at Blue Raider Softball Field starting Friday, April 12.
Liberty leads the conference in the current standings in its first year competing in CUSA.

Liberty currently ranks 33 in the latest RPI standings with the No. 1 non-conference strength of schedule. The Flames pace the conference at (23-16, 12-3).
This weekend series features three out of the top five home run hitters in CUSA. Blevins ranks second with 12 while Rachel Roupe ranks fourth with nine and Megan Fortner with eight.
The Flames come into the weekend with a midweek win over No. 24 Virginia in Charlottesville.
In the circle, Kaylan Yoder has the second most shutouts in CUSA with four that all came in conference play. Yoder also threw a no-hitter this season against Jacksonville State.
