MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee evened the series against NM State after defeating the Aggies 10-9 on Saturday afternoon at Reese Smith Jr. Field..

The Blue Raiders (12-21, 4-7 CUSA) jumped out to a quick four-run lead after a Trace Phillips RBI single and Jackson Galloway three-run blast to left field in the opening inning.

In the seventh inning, MTSU added a trio of runs on Galloway's second three-run home run of the game to put the Blue Raiders up 7-3.

The Aggies (14-19, 3-8 CUSA) immediately responded, plating five runs in the eighth to take the lead. However, Middle Tennessee scored a pair of two-out runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 10-8 lead into the ninth. The Blue Raiders would go on to win 10-9.

On the mound, Chandler Alderman went seven innings, striking out four Aggie batters. Matt Romero (1-1) was tabbed with the loss, while Will Jenkins (1-0) earned the win for MTSU.
