Blue Raiders take fifth place at Mason Rudolph Championship

Owen Stamper finished in the top 10
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee men's golf took fifth place at the Mason Rudolph Championship with a score of 862 (+10) after a combined round of 295 (+11) in Sunday's third round. Owen Stamper, playing in the final group with a crowd of around 60 spectators in tow, tied for ninth at 212 (-1).
Markus Varjun led the Blue Raiders in the third round with a score of 71 (E). He bookended his round with birdies on holes 1 and 18. He tied for 16th individually at 214 (+1).
Stamper shot a 75 (+4) in the third round, aided by a birdie on the 14th hole.
Kevin Jegers tied for 27th with a 54-hole score of 217 (+4) after shooting a 74 (+3) in the third round. He picked up birdies on holes 6 and 8.
Sheldon McKnight ended the event tied for 44th with a score of 221 (+8). His three birdies were the most by a Blue Raider in the third round.
Michael Barnard rounds out the Blue Raider lineup in a tie for 58th.
The only teams to finish ahead of MTSU were No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 9 Alabama and UNC Wilmington.
By the Numbers
170 – The Blue Raiders parred 170 holes, the most among the 13-team field.
39 – Barnard came within two of the individual lead by making par 39 times in the tournament.
4 – Stamper earned his fourth top-10 finish of the season.

Tournament Notes
- No. 3 Vanderbilt, playing on its home course, won the event at 822 (-30), 18 strokes better than No. 5 Ole Miss.
- The Commodores' Gordon Sargent was the individual winner at 202 (-11).
- The Blue Raiders are back in action at Mississippi State's Mossy Oak Collegiate Championship, held April 15-16.
