MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee men's basketball season tips off in just nine days, which means it's time to take an in-depth look at the 2025-26 roster. With nine new Blue Raiders, it's safe to say that the post group has seen some changes, just one player returning who played the five last year.
The group returned Chris Loofe, a former 2024 CUSA All-Freshman Team selection, while adding transfer Brandon Oloumou and freshman Luka Jovanovic. Fans will also see Jarred Hall at the post position, a spot that he had never previously played before this summer.
Loofe is a familiar face for the Blue Raiders, now entering his junior season with the program. The coaching staff is looking for him to take on a big role this year as a leader who has been in the Nick McDevitt system for two seasons. The Leander, Texas, native averaged 4.0 points and 3.4 rebounds a year ago, seeing time in all 34 games played, including his first collegiate start against New Mexico State. A known presence in the paint, he is a player who can be seen as a safety net who has the experience to do everything on both sides of the court. On the defensive side, he led the team in blocks last year with 35 as a rim protector and is not afraid to be a lockdown defender no matter who he is guarding.
Oloumou spent the past two seasons at the College of Southern Idaho before coming to Murfreesboro as a junior. In his freshman season, he averaged 2.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game in 14 appearances and improved in his sophomore season, jumping up to 3.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. He suffered a season-ending injury halfway through his sophomore season but is known as a dynamic athlete in the post. The main goal for the Nassau, Bahamas, native this season will be to get him back on the court and back to his shot blocking ways.
A new sight for Blue Raider fans will be Hall at the post position. A solid shooter from behind the arc, the Lebanon, Tenn., native made the jump to the five spot this year, with McDevitt anticipating a big year from him. At 6-9, he may be on the smaller side for post players in Conference USA, but he'll be able to take advantage of his size as a solid scoring big who can guard multiple positions. Tallying one block in his game time last year, the junior will look to take a step forward as an athletic rim protector who is unafraid of hitting the knockdown three.
The lone freshman in the post group is Jovanovic, who joins Middle Tennessee from Belgrade, Serbia. He played for the KK FMP SoccerBet Beograd club in the Serbian KLS league, bringing a wealth of international circuit experience to the team. On and off the court, he is a very consistent and disciplined individual, constantly putting up extra shots in the gym. Tactically, he is a very physical and skilled big who is willing to throw his body around to come up with a rebound or save a ball from rolling out of bounds. His work ethic is one that the staff calls "blue collar" and just loves to play basketball, never seen without a smile on his face. The 6-11 freshman competed for Serbia at the FIBA U19 World Cup this past summer and was selected to the Best Five of the Serbian KLS league.
