Blue Raiders Wrap Up Competitive Weekend at Buck Bouldin Shootout

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee men's tennis competed in the Buck Bouldin Shootout, facing Indiana, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt over three days of play.
The Blue Raiders opened the weekend with two doubles wins. Freddy Murray and Antonie Mayoral defeated Facundo Yunis and Aidan Atwood 6-3, and Eric Crivei and Rich LaLance won 6-4 over Deacon Thomas and Matteo Antonescu. In singles, Crivei beat Atwood 2-6, 7-5, 6-3, and Murray beat Yunis 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (8-6). Meanwhile, Mayoral and LaLance fell in their matches.
On Day 2 against Tennessee, Crivei defeated Jose Garcia 6-4, 6-4, and Mayoral earned a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win over Jan Kobierski. Murray and LaLance dropped their singles matches, and both doubles teams fell 6-4.
On the final day versus Vanderbilt, Mayoral won a close three-set match over Tighe Brunetti 6-7 (10-8), 7-6 (7-3), 7-5. Murray, Crivei, and LaLance each fell in singles play. In doubles, Murray and Mayoral won 6-3, and Crivei and LaLance took a 7-6 (7-4) victory.
