Blue Raiders Come Out On Top Against Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee women's tennis returned to Nashville for a second day to face Lipscomb, where the Blue Raiders secured a hard-fought victory.
In doubles action, the pairing of Alessia Truden and Rutuja Chaphalkar returned to their winning ways, claiming a 6-2 victory. The win marked their fifth of the season, improving their record to 4-1 on Court 2. Eloise Swarbrick and Lena Peyer fell in their match, losing 6-3 to Lipscomb's Mariia Dolzhenko and Rut Galindo. With the doubles point on the line, Ilaria Sposetti and Cassiy Mataia clinched it for the Blue Raiders with a 6-3 win, pushing their record to 4-1.
In singles play, the Blue Raiders secured an early point courtesy of Peyer, who swiftly defeated Lipscomb's Galindo in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Sposetti followed with a hard-fought three-set victory, edging out her opponent 6-4, 1-6, 7-5.
The match came down to one court, with Zenn Lim battling Lipscomb's Sofia Zhychuk in a three-set tiebreaker. Lim pulled through with a 7-5 tiebreak win, securing the match 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 and clinching the overall 4-3 victory for MTSU.
