Blue Raiders hosting Skyhawks at Blue Raider Softball Field
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Softball is welcoming UT Martin to Blue Raider Softball Field tomorrow, March 19, for a mid-week showdown at 1:00 pm. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats can be found at Stat Broadcast.
The Blue Raiders hold a 12-16 record to open the 2025 season while going 3-3 in conference. MTSU has found success playing at home holding a 6-2 record to open the campaign.
Middle Tennessee is coming off a week that saw an upset victory over No. 19 Mississippi State on Wednesday, Mar. 12. Leila Ammon dominated for the Blue Raiders as she shut down the high-powered Bulldog offense with a complete game. Middle Tennessee then won a series vs. Sam Houston, taking the first two games before dropping the third. With her performances vs. the Bulldogs and Bearkats, Leila Ammon took home her second Conference USA Freshman of the Week on Monday with a 0.91 ERA over 15.1 innings. Ammon has the eighth best ERA in CUSA with a 2.45 mark and has thrown the third most innings with 65.2. Both of those marks lead freshmen in the conference.
Offensively, Jana Want is riding a 12-game hitting streak entering the battle with UT Martin. It is the 10th highest hitting-streak in the NCAA and the highest in Conference USA for the 2025 season. Want currently has the fourth most walks in CUSA with 15, is ninth in batting average with a .386 mark, and is eighth in on-base percentage at .485.
Ansley Blevins has been scorching hot at the plate over the last few weeks, smacking eight home runs over her last 13 games. Blevins is fifth in the conference in slugging percentage with a .742 mark and is sixth with a 1.178 OPS. Across the Blue Raiders first six conference games, Blevins leads the conference in many hitting metrics, including home runs with five.

UT Martin – The 2025 UT Martin Skyhawks hold a 10-13 record while going 2-4 in OVC play. Middle Tennessee has a record of 30-15-1 vs. UT Martin while taking the last two matchups. The Skyhawks are led by Chelsea Farmer who is in her second season at the helm. In her first year, Farmer led the team to the program's second 30 win campaign over the last eight seasons and finished second in the OVC. The Skyhawk offense is led by Alli Robinson who leads the team with a .328 average and 21 hits. Their pitching staff is led by Ashtyn Green who holds a stellar 1.87 ERA with 60 innings pitched.
