Blue Raiders Give a Valiant Effort but Fall 4-2 to Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After their match Friday against Princeton, the Blue Raiders traveled to Cambridge, Massachusetts, to face No. 11 Harvard, falling 4-2.
Doubles play was a battle for the Blue Raiders, coming down to one court for the clinch. No. 76-ranked Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak claimed victory on Court 1, defeating Harvard's No. 21-ranked Masato Perera and Benjamin Privara 6-2.
The pair of Kacper Szymkowiak and Jakub Kroslak dropped their match on Court 2, 6-4. With the doubles point coming down to Court 3, Shu Matsuoka and Rostislav Halfinger fought hard but fell 6-4, giving Harvard a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
Harvard extended its lead with wins on Court 6 and Court 1. Igor Mandou Berranger lost for the Blue Raiders, while Szymkowiak suffered his first defeat as a Blue Raider.
Kroslak put Middle Tennessee on the board with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-0 victory over Rohan Murali. Matsuoka followed with a three-set win against Perera, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1, making the overall score 3-2 with two courts still in play.
Harvard's Melchior Delloye clinched the match, defeating Horak 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, sealing the 4-2 victory for the Crimson.
