Middle Tennessee drops series despite early offense, 7-4 against Kennesaw State

MARIETTA, Ga. — Middle Tennessee once again got off to a promising start but couldn't hold on late, falling 7-4 to close out its series on the road Friday night at Walter Kelly Field.
The Blue Raiders built a 4-3 lead through four innings, boosted by a three-run third that included RBI doubles from Brett Rogers and Brett Vondohlen. Rogers finished with two hits, while Vondohlen added two more and drove in one.
Tyler Minnick reached base three times and scored once, while Eston Snider and Hayden Miller each tallied a hit and a run. Matt Wolfe also added a single and drew two walks as the designated hitter.
Middle Tennessee couldn't capitalize after the fourth inning, with the offense limited to just one hit over the final five frames.
Starter Chandler Alderman allowed four runs on six hits across four innings before giving way to Will Jenkins, who was charged with two unearned runs in the sixth. Cole Torbett turned in a solid relief effort, holding the opposition to one hit and one unearned run over three innings.
