DALLAS – For the first time in her career, Isabella Johnson has been voted Energy Transfer Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon. The award marks the first conference award Johnson has won and the first weekly superlative the Blue Raiders have brought home this season.
In a stacked field including No. 8 Florida and No. 16 Duke, the sophomore earned another top 15 finish at the Sea Best Intercollegiate last weekend. She pieced together three solid rounds to lead the Blue Raiders at 221 (+5). Johnson tallied her 10th round at par or better in the third round (72), moving into T6 in single season Blue Raider history.
Averaging 73.6 strokes per round in Jacksonville, she shot four strokes better than the tournament average, including shooting over six strokes better than the overall average in the third round, 78.8. Her 13th-place finish marks her fourth top 15 place of the season, with all of her rounds this season counting towards the team score, the only Blue Raider to achieve this feat this season.
