MARTIN, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Softball heads to Martin for the third meeting with UT Martin this season. The Blue Raiders and Skyhawks will face off on Wednesday, March 18 at 1:00 p.m. CT at Bettye Giles Softball Field.

Blue Raider Notes

Middle Tennessee enters the matchup 12-13 after falling to Liberty in the Blue Raiders' most recent Conference USA series. The Blue Raiders blasted a tied Middle Tennessee single-game record of four home runs in game three against the Flames, marking just the third time in program history that a Middle Tennessee team has done so.
The Blue Raiders walked off their first game of the season against EKU on Wednesday, March 11 with a pinch-hit home run from Sabria Ritto in the bottom of the sixth. The Middle Tennessee staff pitched their fourth game of the season without allowing an earned run.
Middle Tennessee is hitting a stride at the plate; the Blue Raiders have homered in 12 of their last 16 games, including eight consecutive and eight multi-home run games.

Skyhawk Notes

UT Martin is coming off its first three-game sweep of Southeast Missouri since 2016 and enter the midweek 16-12 overall and 4-2 in OVC competition under the leadership of Chelsea Farmer in her third season.
Sami Scholtz threw the 11th no-hitter in UT Martin history in game one against SEMO, and the first seven-inning no-hitter since 2006. Scholtz leads the UT Martin pitching staff with a record of 5-3, a 2.44 ERA and a .184 opponent batting average.
Offensively, Carly Ward leads the Skyhawks with a .403 batting average, and Avary Makarewicz tops UT Martin with a .679 slugging percentage, a .485 on-base percentage, 25 RBIs and 13 extra-base hits.

Series History

The series stands at 33-15-1 all-time in favor of the Blue Raiders. Middle Tennessee is on a five-game win streak against UT Martin, including two wins against the Skyhawks at the Blue Raider Classic earlier this season.
